Candibiotic Ear Drops is applied in the allergic and inflammatory diseases of the outer and middle ear. This drop is also used for treatment of acute otitis media, Otitis externa, suppuration of middle ear, hot weather ear, swimming pool ear, fulminating bacterial infections and mastoid surgery. This ear drops is offered in the form of a transparent yellowish solution. This drug is available on prescription only.

Key Ingredients

The active ingredients in Candibiotic Ear Drops are Clotrimazole 10 mg, chloramphenicol 50 mg, beclomethasone dipropionate 250 mcg and lidocaine 20 mg. Other ingredients are propylene glycol, glycerin. This medication is offered in 5 ml - vials (1) with a plug-dropper - packs cardboard.

Dosage Instruction

This drug should be used by you as you are prescribed by your doctor. The recommended dose for adults is 4-5 drops 3-4 times / day. It shows improvement in the condition within 3-5 days. The full course of treatment should be continued for 7-10 days.

Adverse Effect

Side effects are common with any drugs. But this drug has very minor side effects. The use of this ear drops may cause local reactions such as itching, burning at the site of deposition of the drug. It also may cause allergic reactions rarely.

Contraindications

Candibiotic Ear Drops is contraindicated in some patients. This should not be applied in violation of the integrity of the eardrum. This medication is not meant for children younger than 6 years. This drug also should not be used in those who have hypersensitivity to the drug's components.

Pregnancy and Lactation

The effect of Candibiotic Ear Drops on health of the mother or the fetus is not confirmed in clinical and experimental studies of adverse effects. Therefore it is advised not to use the drug during pregnancy and lactation in large quantities and for a longer period of time.

Cautions

It should be applied with caution in small children. Don’t let the applicator tip touch with material from the fingers or other sources. It will contaminate the solution. This safety measure is indispensable if the sterility of the drops is to be preserved. Candibiotic has caused hypersensitivity reactions, even using a single dose. Put an end to use it without delay and contact your doctor at the first sign of a rash or allergic reaction.

Like any other anti-infective preparations, extended use may give rise to over-growth of nonsusceptible organisms, such as fungi. If the condition is not improved after one week, tell your doctor. If otitis media persists after a full course of treatment, or if two or more episodes of otitis media arise within six months, consider for further evaluation.

Overdose

An overdose of the drug candibiotic has not been reported.
