Introduction

Generic Myotonine (Bethanechol) 25 mg tablet is applied for treatment and prevention of bladder dysfunction caused by phenothiazines, non-obstructive urinary retention and retention caused by neurogenic bladder, gastroesophageal reflux, diagnosis of flaccid or atonic neurogenic bladder.

Mode of Action

Generic Myotonine (Bethanechol) stimulates cholinergic receptors in the smooth muscle of the urinary bladder and gastrointestinal tract. Dosage & administration

Drug Contraindications

Bethanechol should not be administered to patients with hyperthyroidism, epilepsy, peptic ulcer disease, obstructive pulmonary disease, vasomotor instability, bradycardia, atrioventricular conduction defects, or Parkinsonism; hypotension, I.M. or I.V. use due to a likely severe cholinergic reaction. This drug should not be applied in people who have hypersensitivity to Bethanechol, mechanical obstruction of the GI or GU tract.

Warnings & Precautions

Apply caution when administering to nursing women, as it is unidentified if Myotonine is excreted in breast milk. The safety of this drug has not been studied in children less than 5 years of age.
